a. Endoscopic CSF Leak Repair and Anterior Skull Base Surgery. The flow of the fluid from the brain into the nose and sinuses is called cerebrospinal fluid [CSF] . A thick cover called Dura helps in keeping the fluid around the brain and spinal cord. Operations , trauma to the head ,and tumours can cause a defect in the brain leading to this condition.
b. Endoscopic Pituitary Surgery: Pituitary gland is responsible for the regulation of many hormones in our body. The surgery is for removal of tumour from the gland.
c.Endoscopic Sinus Surgeries Including Modified LOTHROP Procedure (DRAF3):Soft tissue growths that affect the throat due to allergy is called polyps. This growth can spread leading to the closure of sinus openings. With DRAF3 surgery, the closed sinus openings can be opened widely and the disease can be cleared properly and effectively. It is extremely useful in recurrent nasal polyposis and fungal sinusitis.After widely opening all the sinuses ( Full house ESS), the cavities are washed with a mixture medicines in saline.
d. Nasal Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR):This surgery is used to treat patients with
nasolacrimal duct obstruction. This obstruction may be genetic or acquired. The most important feature of this surgery is that there are no external scars.
e. Cosmetic surgery of the nose( Rhinoplasty): It is the plastic surgery of the nose.Rhinoplasty treats jammed nose , bad looking nose, etc and it improves the function of the nose also.
f. Septoplasty: The nasal septum is straightened by this procedure. Any deviation in the nasal septum can lead to obstruction.SMR operation is now replaced by Septoplasty surgery. Normally this surgery is done after the age of 17, but if necessary it can be done before.
